Volunteering at the pantry

There are many opportunities to volunteer at the pantry. Some of the opportunities include:

  • Food Distribution – During the hours we are open assisting in the distribution of food to our clients.
  • Food Pick Up – We pick up donated food from several merchants on a regular basis
  • Special Events – We have several fundraising and food drive events throughout the year

Click here to to learn how you can become a volunteer in the pantry.

Qualified clients can visit our location twice per month to obtain supplemental food for their households. Last year we were able to service over 350 households per month with over 60,000 lbs of food.

As we move forward, our goal is to expand our services to further assist our clients not only with food, but with other needed services as they become available.

State funding announced for Depew food pantry

Paul Burdick, administrator for Tri-Community Food Pantry in Depew, discusses all that the organization does for the community with Assemblywoman Monica Wallace.
Paul Burdick, administrator for Tri-Community Food Pantry in Depew, discusses all that the organization does for the community with Assemblywoman Monica Wallace.
Assemblywoman Monica Wallace has secured $10,000 in state funding for Depew’s Tri-Community Food Pantry, 722 Terrace Blvd.

The pantry provides more than 9,000 meals every month to roughly 300 local families, according to Wallace’s office.

Funds secured by Wallace will assist the pantry in its day-to-day operations.

“As a state legislator, it is my duty to ensure that state resources are not only coming to the 143rd Assembly District, but that they are being used in a manner that assists residents who need it most,” said Wallace.

“The service of community based organizations like the Tri-Community Food Pantry goes beyond the meals they provide to local families. Their commitment to education of all Western New Yorkers on the nature of hunger and poverty makes our community more compassionate and understanding of hardships faced by many of our neighbors. I am proud to secure state resources to assist Tri-Community with the great and selfless work it does.”

The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports that more than two million New Yorkers, about 12 percent of the state’s population, do not always have the financial ability to meet their basic nutritional needs.

Tri-Community Food Pantry, Inc. is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2003 with the goal of alleviating hunger and poverty by providing food and services to people in need.

As part of their mission, they work to educate the public about the nature of hunger and poverty.

They recognize the need for emergency and supplemental food programs and of other non-profit organizations that meet the critical needs of low-income families, and they strive to provide their services with compassion and respect for the dignity of their clients.
